Cookies, Cupcakes and Candies

I was able to make a trip to the States while in Cornwall for Thanksgiving weekend. I was in Pink Heaven! The states offer so many things that Canada doesn't and the supply of Breast Cancer Pink things was no different.

I picked up pink Hershey kisses, pink filled Peppermint Patties, as well as a pink ribbon cookie cutter and cupcake liners. It was awesome and so exciting. I'm certain the girls with me thought I was utterly insane. I am and most of you know I am, but the company of the trip weren't aware of my 'issues'.

The candies will be put in my freezer for next year's candy bags and then the cookie cutter and cupcakes will be used for fundraising.

Any of the girls on the team that want to borrow the cookie cutter for your office or baking fundraiser, just let me know.

Cookies for a Cure

To keep the creative juices flowing and the ideas coming, I'm going to post a couple of things I'm doing or going to do to raise some money.

I have a pink cup in my office labelled, Pennies for Pink. In one day, there are 45 pennies. My goal is to fill the cup. I would think working in the health care industry I would be able to get some pennies from the numerous medical staff I encounter on a daily basis.

I will be baking shortbread cookies and colouring them pink with red food colouring and selling them in my office too. I have another girl at work that says she's going to make sugar cookies for me to sell. I'll keep you posted on how much money I bring in with my cookie sales. I'm likely going to package them 2 to a baggie or wrap and list the price as fifty cents.

I'm issuing a challenge right now. If I receive donations totalling $1000.00 in time for the Run for the Cure 2009, I will shave my head. I will also donate a dollar for every donation I receive.
